Prost! Raise a glass to August Schell Brewing Company. Specializing in quality crafted beer brewed in New Ulm, Minnesota, since the year 1860, the second-oldest family-owned brewery in the country has added another accolade to the many plaques on the brewery’s wall. August Schell Brewing Company has been honored with WCCO’s Viewers’ Choice for the “Best Brewery in Minnesota.”
Just two hours southwest of the Twin Cities, President of the August Schell Brewing Company, Ted Marti, and the Marti family have created a brewery with award winning beer and a history unmatched to any other brewery in the country.
The August Schell Brewery is a trip down memory lane dating back to 1860. If you have not visited the place where German craft beer began in Minnesota, make the drive to New Ulm and take in the history of this one-of-a-kind brewery. Tickets are only $5.00 to take a tour and are sold on a first come, first serve basis. More information can be found HERE.
Although you may have a chance to meet Ted Marti, President of August Schell Brewing Company, it’s unlikely he will lead you on the tour. “They don’t make me do tours much anymore because I talk too much!” Marti said.
