Grown Local. Brewed Local. Introducing Schell’s Fort Road Helles

It has been a long, long time since the fields of Southern Minnesota were filled with amber waves of barley. August Schell Brewing Company is working to change that. The second-oldest family-owned brewery in the country introduces their newest year-round offering. Welcome Schell’s Fort Road Helles, a classic Bavarian-style Helles. Grown local. Brewed local.

In a unique partnership with the Gieseke family and other local farmers, August Schell Brewing made this beer with malting barley grown just a stone’s throw away from their brewery in New Ulm, MN. Right down Fort Road, to be exact. Brewed to allow the bready character of the malt to shine through, Fort Road Helles is a full-flavored, easy-drinking classic. Fort Road Helles was initially available in the Biergarten Brewer’s back in 2016, but the consumers wanted more.
