FINNEGANS Unveils New Beer Lineup from New East Town Brewery

So a Czech-style Pilsner, Farmhouse Ale, and IPA walk into a bar….No, these are not characters in a newly constructed bar jest, but rather the new additions to FINNEGANS Brew Co.’s updated lineup of beers created, tested and brewed in its new Elliot Park neighborhood brewery.

Founder Jacquie Berglund and Head Brewer Ryan Mihm are wasting no time in reaping the benefits of their new brewery, part of the FINNEGANS House development, inaugurating a new era for FINNEGANS. Featuring more styles, innovative recipes and consistent quality, this new lineup is currently showing up on taps and on store shelves throughout the region, allowing FINNEGANS to donate even more profits to local agriculture and food shelves and continuing its 17 year mission to help those in need.

“These new beers, along with an update of our traditional lineup, will increase the variety of great-tasting brews from which socially-conscious beer drinkers can choose,” said Jacquie Berglund Founder and President of FINNEGANS SBC. “Barstool philanthropy just got a lot easier and much, much tastier.”

FINNEGANS craft beers launching now include, Cluster Truck (IPA), Tipped Cow (Farmhouse Ale), and East Town (Czech Pilsner). The FINNEGANS beer lineup will continue to build throughout the year, with other innovative releases, like a Märzen style lager and Norwegian style porter. Also timed with the launch of FINNEGANS Brewery & Taproom, the company’s current brews—Irish Ale, Blonde Ale, and Dead Irish Poet Extra Stout—will join the new beers in a switch to cans. Beers new and old will be available on tap at the brewery, but also in-store wherever FINNEGANS is sold.

“Our new brewery allows us to really push the brand and expand beyond our classic, beloved brews with some new, interesting options,” said Ryan Mihm, FINNEGANS Head Brewer. “We’re always going to honor our Irish heritage, but we’re excited to go a bit more global and offer a Farmhouse Ale, Czech Pilsner, and many others in the near future.”

A short description of each of the new brews:

 Cluster Truck IPA (Year-Round)

Cluster Truck is an American IPA with a truckload of hops. Brewed with close to four pounds of Columbus, Comet Amarillo, and Citra Hops per barrel, it’s taste profile includes hints of grapefruit rind, fresh cut grass, and rolled down windows. It’s hoppy but not too bitter. Perfect for having a few without filling your tank.

Tipped Cow Farmhouse Ale (Seasonal)

A refreshing Belgian-inspired Saison, Tipped Cow is the perfect spring and summer Saison. You’ll find hints of pepper, mandarin orange, fresh cut grass, and pine. It’s light but flavorful, perfect for thirsty farmhands to drink ‘til the cows come home.

 East Town Pilsner (Year-Round)

Eastern Europe meets East Town Minneapolis in this traditional Czech-style pilsner. East Town is a crisp, clean, and captivating rediscovery of the lost art of the true Pilsner. It’s as bright, lively, and approachable as the Czech Saaz Hops with which it’s brewed. And will have you saying    “na zdravi” any time of day or night.

In addition to the new offerings, FINNEGANS has updated its popular FINNEGANS Irish Ale,   a full-flavored, medium-bodied Ale with a caramelly, malty finish.

All FINNEGANS brews can now be found in 12- or 16-ounce cans featuring its bold new geometric-inspired packaging designs. The mildly-hallucinogenic plaid patterns link the different brews to the FINNEGANS brand family while clearly differentiating them by individual beer style.

This new lineup will also allow Minnesota Twins Fans to practice “ballpark philanthropy” all summer as they donate to local food charities just by enjoying FINNEGANS Irish Ale at Target Field. Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Gopher fans will also “Turn Beer into Food” at their home games with a selection of these new FINNEGANS Brews available at US Bank Stadium and TCF Bank Stadium in the fall.
